During class we will introduce and discuss the following topics:

* Postpartum Vitamin K, Erythromycin Eye Treatment and Hepatitis B vaccine

* Circumcision

* Breastfeeding, diet and nutrition for nursing

* Finding care providers/pediatricians who are tolerant of alternative medical choices

* Vaccinations, declining and delaying

* Cord Blood Banking (disadvantages and benefits)

* Attachment parenting/co-sleeping

* Dangers of non-organic baby mattresses and the possible link to SIDS

* Nutrition and feeding your baby/ toddler

* Positive language and affirmations

* Cloth diapering and other diapering alternatives

* Dangers of Fluoridated water and supplements for children* you will also leave class with a resource sheet which includes names and references for area practitioners, handouts, books and reading recommendations.

About our instructor Heidi Guiliano:
I have worked in the birth field for seven years. I have observed time and time again how frustrated parents become when they were not well informed by their doctor or pediatrician which led them to consent to something that they did not want for themselves or their child. Many parents do not make well-informed choices that are best for their children. Instead, they just go along with what is expected in the mainstream medical model.

This is not always what parents would have chosen to do if they had known otherwise or if they had researched alternatives. It is wise to take classes, read books and to network with other well-informed individuals so that you can gain an awareness that allows you to make the best choices for your child and your family.

I am a parent of two happy, healthy and strong boys. I am well aware of how difficult it can be to devote a great amount of time to reading, researching and collecting information to become knowledgeable enough to make decisions to raise your children in a way that coincides with a holistic philosophy. This is what led me to offer Holistic Parenting classes to the clients that I work with.
