Thanks to generous support by the Foundation for MetroWest, Ben Speaks is offering ten moms and daughters (ages 12 and up) a free four-week summer empowerment series to help bridge the gap between you and your daughter, opening a space for dialog and understanding through the practice of yoga, mediation and the expressive arts.
The afternoon series will be held at Solstice Healing Center (163 Main Street, Suite 6, Medway) on Wednesdays starting July 18 through Aug. 8, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
“So much more than a yoga class, this empowerment series is a chance to connect with your daughter - mind, body and spirit,” said Julie Dennehy of Medway, who enjoyed the course with her 10-year-old daughter Olivia. “A few hours of stretching, journaling, laughing, meditating and just spending quiet time together is a precious gift moms and daughters can give each other this summer.”
According to Judy Giovangelo, executive director of Ben Speaks and program instructor, “Today’s moms and daughters need time to relax, stretch, think, play, write, create art, and meditate, all different ways to bond and ease stress.
This program for youth and families by providing a ‘holistic toolbox’ to use throughout their lifetime in order to become more emotionally resilient and empowered, and make better choices in a stressful world. Thanks to a wonderful grant from the Foundation of MetroWest, we are pleased to bring this popular program to the community at no charge.”
