It was designed to provide support and technical skills to individuals who provide care to a family member or friend without compensation.
This program will be run by Ann M.C.
Lynch, Psy.D., OTR/L, Director of NeuroBehavioral Services at the NeuroRehabilitation Center at Worcester, part of the Wingate Healthcare group.
In her presentation, Lynch will address how to manage dementia and dementia behaviors during the holidays.
She will provide an overview of memory functioning and dementia; discuss communication strategies; and provide concrete tips for how to orchestrate holidays so they can be comfortable and pleasant.
After the skill-building and education, lunch will be provided, and supportive discussion will be facilitated by Natick Human Services & Council on Aging clinical social worker, Christina Player.
The Caregiver Care Program is available through grants provided by the Tufts Health Plan Foundation.
There is no fee to attend, but registration is required.
