By 1835 the herb industry in Harvard was a major business with 197 herbs for sale – many for medicinal purposes.
During this workshop you will learn about the many common and uncommon herbs the Shakers cultivated or harvested and how they were used.
We’ll also discuss drying and storing herbs, teas, vinegars and other herbal remedy techniques.
Presented in partnership with the Herbal Community of Central Massachusetts.
