Boston Fire Department, Stop & Shop and Energizer are teaming up to host an event to promote fire safety awareness and encourage Boston-area residents to change the batteries in their smoke detectors when they change their clocks on daylight saving time.

The partnership is part of Energizer’s annual Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® program.

The fire safety awareness event on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Stop & Shop located at 1100 Massachusetts Ave. will include appearances from local firefighters, a fire truck, fire safety demonstrations, Energizer giveaways, high-value Energizer battery coupons, family-friendly activities and more.

The event will provide a fun environment for families and individuals to learn how they can take simple, preventative steps to protect their loved ones and home.
