Lyme Innovation is a partnership between the Dean Center for Tick Borne Illness at Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, the Bay Area Lyme Foundation, MIT Hacking Medicine, and the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
The purpose of Lyme Innovation is to solve critical prevention, diagnostic, and treatment challenges facing the Lyme disease field, and to encourage diverse researchers to take on these wicked problems.
Lyme Innovation is comprised of three events: two pre-hackathon events at MIT and UC Berkeley designed to educate and energize teams, which will culminate in a full three-day hackathon on June 17-19, at the Microsoft Nerd Center in Cambridge, MA.
Prizes will be awarded at all events to top teams as judged by a panel of Lyme disease experts.
Five preliminary awards will be given at the end of the June hackathon, and teams will have two months to further develop their research proposals.
These will be presented to a panel of judges in September 2016 at the Dean Center for Tick Borne Illness Annual Research Consortium, and the top three teams will be awarded research grants.
A grant from the Bay Area Lyme Foundation makes Lyme Innovation possible.
We hope you will join us in hacking Lyme disease!
