JCC Greater Boston and the Movement Disorder Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center are partnering to provide these programs to the community.
The offerings are part of the Edmond J. Safra National Parkinson’s Wellness Initiative, launched to improve the lives of people suffering from Parkinson’s, a chronic and progressive movement disorder.
The classes are Cycle (Mondays, 11-11:45am), NIA - Neuromuscular Integrated Action (Tuesdays, 2-3pm), Seated Strength (Thursdays, 3-4pm) and Total Body Conditioning (Fridays, 10:30-11:30am).
Classes begin during week of May 21.
Cost to register is $135-$150, depending on length of the class.
A ten-week support group for those caring for someone with Parkinson’s will meet on Tuesdays from 3-4pm beginning May 22.
Support group participants must be the caregiver for someone participating in one of the JCC’s Parkinson’s Wellness Program exercise classes.
Cost is $50.
