“Shinrin-yoku” means 'taking in the forest atmosphere'.
It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine, utilizing the benefits of spending time under the canopy of a living forest.
We'll do the last part of our walk/hike in meditative silence, inviting in inspiration and ‘new growth'.
The program moves indoors for a short discussion on nudging our winter-weary bodies into spring: best foods to choose (introducing yoga's sister science of Ayurveda) along with yoga poses and movement for all levels that can help awaken us to spring.
We'll wrap up the program with a guided meditation and some journaling.
You'll leave renewed and ready to face a new season ahead!
