Trauma (due to racism, sexism, homophobia/transphobia, anti-semitism, etc.), whether directly or vicariously experienced, has both physiological and psychological implications. This workshop moves beyond providing information about those implications towards an exploration of how individuals can embark on their own journey towards healing.
We will discuss how to use the practices of yoga to observe the impact of trauma on one’s narration of life, to exercise agency in the construction of their narrative, and to utilize inherent/aligning skills to reclaim one’s grounding.
Allies are challenged in this discussion to cultivate a willingness to move past their own sense of shame, guilt, and privilege in order to show up to truth.
Please join us for this discussion and one-hour asana practice that guides teachers, students, and allies in their journey of approaching vulnerability, willingness, healing, strength, and community.
This workshop is free to all and all are welcome.
