The whole family will love letterboxing, a 'treasure hunt' for hidden stamps left by other hikers along the trail.
Kids will be excited about the bridge over the dam and the excellent view of Lake Cochituate at the end of the trail.
First time letterboxing?
No problem!
We'll show you how.
Letterboxes are hand-made stamps hidden along the trail by other hikers, who have left clues to help others find them.
Bring a small journal or notebook to collect images of the stamps.
Black ink provided.
Less than 1 mile roundtrip.
Must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants to protect from poison ivy.
Wear layers, and bring water and snacks as needed.
Adult must accompany child.
Registration encouraged.
