Take a 1-mile round-trip hike with the kids to see a waterfall right in Waltham.
The sprawling Beaver Brook Reservation contains a duck pond, wetland, the site of the old Waverly Oaks and provides a habitat for many animals.
Children should be able to walk alongside an adult easily or ride in a carrier.
No appropriate for strollers.
There are some rocky areas.
Program cancels for heavy rain or snow.
Address is approximate; you may need to give your GPS system a hand by looking for the park sign and other landmarks.

The first reservation established by the Metropolitan Parks Commission (later the MDC) in 1893, Beaver Brook Reservation is 59 acres of open fields, wetlands and woodlands.
Ponds, fields, marsh, and a cascading waterfall make the park's north section a delightful place to walk or picnic.

Meet at the Beaver Brook North Parking lot, on Mill street across the street from Mclean Hospital. You will be able to see the duck pond from the road. Look for the Outdoors Rx sign.
