an 1830s independence day celebration photoOld Sturbridge Village celebrates Independence Day – and night – each year, with a spectacular July 4th fireworks display over the Village Countryside planned in addition to OSV’s regular daytime activities, where visitors can sign a giant Declaration of Independence and play 1830s-style “Base-ball.”

After daytime celebrations conclude at 5:00 p.m., OSV reopens from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m., for an evening of music, magic, family games and activities followed by a 30-minute fireworks display at dusk. Beer, wine, soft drinks, sandwiches and snacks, are offered for sale, or visitors can bring their own picnic food. For details: 800-733-1830; www.osv.org
