Afternoon Adventure: Manners, Decorum, and Valentines!
February 10th , Afternoon Adventure: Manners, Decorum, and Valentines!
In 1904 girls made valentines from doilies, ribbons, and colorful paper scraps. They sent valentines to everyone they cared about. There was a new kind of valentine too. It was called the penny dreadful because it cost a penny and had a funny or sassy message! Make your own special Valentine during this Afternoon Adventure all about manners and decorum. Look at crafts and valentines from Andover’s past and enjoy a special tea.
