Patriots Day: Old Sturbridge Village
Old Sturbridge Village celebrates the role New England patriots played in the nation’s birth with musket demonstrations and fife and drum music.
“Meet” a Minuteman and a Loyalist and learn about the differences in their uniforms and beliefs. Learn how to march with the militia using the official 1776 drill manual.
Join us in celebrating the role played by patriots of New England in the nation's birth, a highlight of special school vacation activities, April 14-22.
Special events include fife and drum music throughout the day and musket ball-making demonstrations. Visitors can also create a Revolutionary War musket cartridge.
Meet the men on both sides of the Revolution. A minuteman and a loyalist will talk about their differences - from uniforms to philosophy.
Young visitors are invited to learn how to drill and march with muskets on the Common, using instructions from the official 1776 drill manual.
