Families gather together, eat special foods, play fun games, and spend time together wishing friends and relatives good luck, wealth, health, and happiness.
The Chinese New Year date is different every year (sometime between mid-January and mid-February) because it is based on the cycles of the moon. It is often called the Lunar New Year and is celebrated in many East Asian countries.
This year, Chinese New Year was on January 23, 2012. Every year is represented by one of the twelve zodiac animals. The year 2012 is the Year of the Dragon!
Join us in the special performances and Lunar New Year activities throughout the Museum.
Ongoing Activities 11:00am-4:00pm:
