The Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History at Regis College in Weston is hosting a birthday party for all our presidents during school vacation week.
On Thursday, February 21, from noon to 4:00, children and adults can view stamps honoring all past presidents to learn more about their biographies, their achievements in office and their first ladies.
Presidential stamps can also be used to do various arts and crafts projects and children will receive free presidential stamps to start their own presidential stamp collection.
Everyone can have a piece of the president’s birthday cake featuring a presidential postage stamp and even have their photo made into a stamp.
An additional activity will be learning how to make envelopes using old calendars, wrapping paper and other types of material.
Visitors can send a note to friends and the Museum will pay the postage.
The Museum’s main gallery will feature various collections including Love Stamps, Presidents on Stamps, postal items related to Presidential inaugurations and Civil War letters and envelopes.
In the Museum’s Special Exhibits Gallery is an overview of the many different ways mail has been carried over the years as well as some interesting uses of stamps by artists.
Children with a first or last name of a president get in free.
Regular Museum hours are noon to 5:00 Thursdays to Sundays.
