The Spellman is holding its annual Valentine Making Day on Saturday, February 8 from 10:00 to 3:00.
The Museum has thousands of vintage United States Love stamps issued over the years that visitors can use to decorate their cards and envelopes as well as Valentine gifts such as mugs and bookmarks. Volunteers will help with instructions.
The museum will also provide stationery and free love postage if you send your card from the Museum. People can come anytime during the event.
There will be Love stamps on display along with special Post Office cancellations from towns including Valentine, Texas; Loving, New Mexico; and Romance, Arkansas. In addition, the Museum will have on exhibit of stamps featuring African-Americans on stamps and children can make a free collection these stamps to take home.
To celebrate February's Presidents week, children can also make a collection of presidents on stamps.
Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children ages 5 to 16. Members are free The Museum store will also be open with gifts for both the collector and non-collector. For more information email to valentine or call 617-784-5838.
