Sure, you can send e-cards to your Valentine, but why not earn a few points with him or her by making a special card and sending it in the mail.
Even better, decorate it with beautiful United States Love stamps.
By using the various US Post Office Love stamps issued over the years, children and adults can make unique cards and envelopes to send love notes to friends.
The Museum will even provide free Love stamps for postage.
Free packets of love stamps will be available for the children and there will be stamp hunts, puzzles and games for prizes.
There will also be items that can be decorated with stamps that will be good for a Valentine gift.
Children can search the Museum’s two- cent stamp boxes to start their own collection.
Free booklets about stamp collecting will also be available.
There will be Love stamps on display as well as envelopes with special Post Office cancellations from towns including Valentine, Texas; Loving, New Mexico; and Romance, Arkansas.
In addition, the Museum is celebrating Black History month with a special exhibit featuring famous African-Americans on stamps.
A free US Postal Service booklet which includes images of many of these stamps will also be available. There is also an exhibit of Love stamps.
