Family Day for The Troops - Send holiday greetings
Children and adults are invited to create holiday cards and letters to send to our troops overseas.
Instructions about how to create unique stamp stationery and envelopes will be provided as well as free postage.
In addition, visitors will receive a discount on admission if they bring a small useful item for the soldiers to include with their cards.
Things such as playing cards, dice, one pound bags of coffee, hot chocolate, chewing gum, aspirin, tuna, dry fruit, life savers, and pumpkin seeds are just some of most requested goods from the troops.
A complete list of items can be obtained by emailing the museum at info@spellman.org.
The program is being coordinated with the Support Our Troops organization located in Stoneham.
There will also be arts and crafts activities with stamps for the children as well as stamp hunts, puzzles and games for prizes.
All children will receive a free packet of stamps plus tips about how to start a stamp collection.
