How does a lobster trap work? What’s the difference between a mackerel and a herring? Are draggers and trawlers the same type of boat? In Massachusetts, home of the “sacred cod,” fishing is part of our DNA.

This Saturday, a one-time exhibit in Gloucester, Mass. will provide a lively lesson on Fishing 101 for anyone from 7 to 70. The exhibit will feature colorful displays in a “gallery” like none you’ve ever seen – a working lobster wharf where lobster boats come up to the dock and drop off their catch all day long.

The exhibit is family-friendly, catered and free of charge.
