This year marks the bicentenary of one of the world's best-known and best-loved authors, Charles Dickens (1812-1870).'Dickens in Lowell' celebrates his life, his work, and his two memorable trips to Massachusetts with a major exhibition and event series running through Oct. 20.

On Saturday, July 12, 12-3 p.m., you can travel back in time and enjoy a Victorian picnic and afternoon of lawn games at Lowell's Whistler House Museum. For a complete schedule of events, go to www.uml.edu/dickens
