On February 28, web designer and mixed media artist Jeanne Williamson will lead a workshop for creative professionals, Creating a Web Presence and Making the Most of It, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Danforth Museum of Art.

Williamson will cover why a website is an important tool in promoting an artist’s work and how to drive traffic to a site, as well as other considerations, including domain names, hosting, layout, images, copyright, and what contact information to provide.

A resident of Natick, Williamson is the founder of Thread Media, a web design firm that creates custom-designed websites for individuals and smaller organizations.

She has also taught art to people with disabilities and published two books.

Her mixed media pieces range in size from six inches to 35 feet, and have been shown in magazines, galleries and museums.

This lecture is part of the museum’s Professional Artists Series, presented in cooperation with the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston.
