On June 1st in 1843 the Alcotts moved to Harvard to start a Utopian community with fellow Transcendentalist Charles Lane.

They planned to live off the fruits of the land, so they called their community Fruitlands.

Join us as we celebrate the Alcott's arrival with historic characters who were friends of the Alcotts such as Emerson, Thoreau, Margaret Fuller and more.

Interact with them and learn about Transcendentalism.

Today the house they lived in is a museum along with a Shaker museum building, a Native American museum building and an art gallery with a large collection of Hudson River School landscapes and rotating exhibits.

There is also a Cafe and a Museum Store.
