Brock Jobe, Professor Emeritus of American Decorative Arts at Winterthur Museum, will discuss how rural Massachusetts craftsmen developed business strategies that promoted their products to a range of customers.

During the early 1800s, these strategies changed the face of furniture-making in the Bay State, leading eventually to an industry that ranked among the largest in the country.

Join Professor Jobe as he recounts the little-known story of the transformation of a trade and highlights the products of that trade.
