Come to Deer Island to help celebrate two very special Boston Harbor Islands National & State Park anniversaries with a day of fishing and fun!
- Learn how to fish for and identify striped bass and winter flounder with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (Rods and other supplies provided)
- Meet National Park Service Rangers and be sworn in as an *official* Boston Harbor Islands Junior Ranger
- Play games, color, and learn “what not to flush” from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA)
- Learn about Boston Harbor’s biodiversity and meet *real crabs* with Save the Harbor/Save the Bay
- Enjoy a picnic with a view, either homemade or from a food truck on site
- Explore the trails of Deer Island on your own
- Discover other exciting Boston Harbor Islands Anniversary events coming this season!

DIRECTIONS & PARKING: It is highly recommended to take public transportation or carpool, as parking at Deer Island is extremely limited.
Ferry: There are 300 spots available for roundtrip ferry passage from to Deer Island. We recommend arriving to Rowes Wharf no later than 10:00am, as the ferry will depart promptly at 10:30am and will not wait for late passengers. The return ferry will depart Deer Island at 1:30pm with an estimated return to Rowes Wharf at 2:00pm.
