Join us at the North End Library, 25 Parmenter Street, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 6:00 PM to watch a PBS documentary detailing the trials and successes of the planning and construction of Boston’s famous “Big Dig”, the most expensive public construction project up to that time.

The Big Dig involved demolition of the elevated highway which separated the Boston Waterfront and the North End from the rest of the City and replaced it with an underground roadway and a linear nature park and walkways, known as the “Greenway”.

The film will be introduced by Jean Casale, a longtime North End resident and a member of the Friends.

The film runs about an hour and after the film we will have an open discussion with the audience to share their Big Dig memories.

Please join us. This is a not to be missed informative experience.

The event has been organized, and is sponsored by, the Friends of the North End Library.
