The Book of Ruth, which is traditionally read on Shavuot, is often upheld as either a chronicle of the first convert to Judaism or as a quintessential feminist text since the two protagonists are women.
During this study session, we will explore whether either of these designations makes sense, or, if the Book of Ruth more aptly recounts a story that resembles a modern-day Romantic Comedy.
