How can parents help children learn to make friends - and understand how to be a good friend? Explore what children, from 5-10 years, can gain from playing with others and how to support the development of social skills. Discuss common problems such as teasing, power struggles, and triangles. Share ideas for helping both “bossy” and “shy” children. Learn when adults should intervene and when to let children work things out themselves.
Leader: Deborah Weinstock-Savoy, Ph.D.
Deborah is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and over 20 years of professional experience working with families and educators. She specializes in workshops and support groups in both community and corporate settings. She is the mother of three.
