In addition to being an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant with a private practice specializing in home visits north of Boston, Kathy Abbott is also a long time La Leche League Leader. Her Facebook group “Breastfeeding In the News” tracks the varied ways that breastfeeding is currently portrayed by the press.

A frequent speaker at regional La Leche League conferences, Kathy is also a past board member of the Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition. As a passionate “lactavist” she has been quoted in “Mothering” magazine, testified at the State House, and traveled to Scandinavia where she visited “Baby Friendly” hospitals. Kathy believes that “The more we connect with our babies, the stronger our society grows.”
