Teacher's Workshop: The People of Plimoth and Patuxet

The workshop includes discussions of the Mayflower Compact and the 1621 Harvest Celebration that would later become known as “The First Thanksgiving”. Activities will include historic presentations, an examination of selected primary source materials, time to visit the museum's sites, and hands-on activities such as making a Wampanoag-style clay pot and cooking a colonial recipe over an open hearth! This exciting day will conclude with a meal of authentic Wampanoag and colonial foods. Plimoth Plantation is a certified Massachusetts Professional Development

Provider and our programs are aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. This workshop is suitable for teachers of all grade levels. Participants will be awarded 10 Professional Development Points.
