In the 17th century, a scene change in an opera performance could take place faster than the eye could follow, just like a ‘film dissolve’ today. A scene could be a vast, realistic landscape, like matte paintings in the movies; every leaf in a forest could flutter, like movie 3D animation. How was this done?

In this engaging, one-hour presentation offered by Glenn KnicKrehm, we will discover how the stage machinery and lighting made it all happen!
