We’ll take an in depth look at the brand new Mahzor Lev Shalem for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur from the Rabbinical Assembly, comparing it to both the traditional Birnbaum Mahzor previously used at Temple Beth Israel, and to other contemporary efforts such as the Harlowe Mahzor, Mahzor Hadash, and the new on line Jewish Renewal Mahzor material being produced by Rabbi Daniel Siegel.
Significantly a major part of the class will include discussion on how we as individuals and as communities can use this liturgy and accompanying material, including spiritual practice suggestions, to make our High Holiday spiritual journeys more personally meaningful.
*The Cost of the Class is covered by a generous grant from the Rosa Kubin Fund. For any questions and more information contact Rabbi Jeff Foust at foust.jeff@gmail.com
