Happiness is a universal emotion that many pursue, but few experience. That is because we confuse happiness with pleasure. We are all born with the innate potential for happiness. Whether that potential becomes a reality depends on how we choose to live our lives. Happiness is not a simple emotion as you will discover in this series. It is your nervous systems way of telling you that you are right with the world.

In this series we will define happiness and break it into its component parts. We will explore the personality traits that lead to it and learn new ways to behave our way to happiness and discover your personal 'happy medium.' We will apply what we learn to key relationships in our lives, at work and home. In the end, you will have what you need to give yourself the gift of happiness and insights on how to help teach children to be happy. Caution: it's not easy being happy!

Jeanine draws on more than 30 years of professional experience to empower teachers and parents to achieve more with children “at risk.” With experiences as a certified teacher, licensed mental health professional, and mother of three children, she understands the promise of every child, as well as the diversity of their needs.

As a certified Human Behavior Specialist and Owner of The Better Behavior Bureau and The Behavior Institute, Jeanine specializes in research-based strategies in educational leadership, relationship-building, motivation, preventing risk factors that compromise the fulfillment of a child’s full potential and implementing positive interventions in “real world settings.” She understands the daily struggles and frustrations of educators and parents, and honors the “hero within” each individual she has the privilege to work along side.

As a speaker, consultant and trainer, Jeanine has worked with thousands of educators, child care professionals and parents across the country. The settings have been varied and included keynote presentations for The Child Welfare League of America, The New England Association for the Education of Young Children, The Vermont Foster and Adoptive Parent Association, The New England Head Start Association, The Children’s Trust Fund and The Family Child Care Association of New York State. In addition, she has taught at the college level and presented on the campuses of Bryant University, The University of Rhode Island and Harvard University. Jeanine is recognized on the federal level as an approved trainer in the fields of education, disabilities and mental health.

As an author, Jeanine has published The Dance of Interaction. Education by Design is her newest project. This is a national training program, in association with Personality Insights, Inc., to be released in June 2009. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her second book, Educating the Heart and developing a national training program entitled Parenting with Style. Jeanine has appeared on public television in four states, and currently has air time in her home state.
