On Friday, August 5th our good friend Dr. David Fishman will join us for Shabbat services & dinner. He will update us on 'The Rescue of Jewish Cultural Treasures During the Holocaust' -- the subject of his research during his sabbatical in Eastern Europe for his upcoming book.
Services begin at 6:30. Dinner & discussion will follow.

About Dr. Fishman: Dr. David Fishman is a Professor of Modern Jewish History at Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, NY. His focus is the history & culture of Jews in Eastern Europe & the Soviet Union, modern Jewish political movements, Yiddish culture & the Holocaust. David is a friend of the Boston Synagogue & leads services during the High Holidays and the first days of Passover.
