Long-held negative stereotypes about only children make some parents wonder if their child is at a disadvantage when compared to those who grow up with siblings.

In her thought-provoking presentation, Dr. Newman combines her research with real-life stories to offer a new perspective on raising only children based on her most recent book The Case for the Only Child.

She will debunk myths about family size and argue the advantages of being parents to one child.

A nationally-recognized parenting expert, Dr. Newman has been featured in Redbook, Parents, The New York Times, and has appeared on The Today Show, CNN and numerous other programs. She is the author of 14 books in the relationship and parenting fields.
