Saturday, June 30, 1:30-2:30pm, “The Mill’s Machinery: New Findings “ presented by Tom Calderwood.
Old Schwamb Mill machinery researcher, Tom Calderwood, will give a virtual tour of past and present woodworking equipment at the Mill. He will discuss the origins and uses of the various machines, including those not normally demonstrated to the public.
10:00am-5:00pm Shaker Workshops Annual Summer Sale Visitors are invited to browse the Mill grounds for the Shaker Workshops Summer Sale, a wonderful assortment of furniture, rugs, framed prints and gift items.
The Old Schwamb Mill is an 1864 oval picture frame factory and living museum, located on the oldest continuously working mill site in the country. Open Tuesdays and Saturdays 11-3 for guided tours and gallery viewing Currently on exhibition is photography show “Inspired by Place” featuring the works of Rose Austin, Claire Ghiloni and Fred Moses.
