Don’t miss an engaging talk about the link between dinosaurs and birds. Join us as we welcome Dr. Alexander Coverdill to Franklin Park Zoo! He will discuss the evolutionary links between dinosaurs and birds.

In his talk titled Birds: The Dinosaurs Among Us, Dr. Coverdill will explore avian ancestry and diversity and share information about some recent finds and speculation about winged and feathered dinosaurs.

This talk, which will be held July 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Meeting Barn, is geared toward an adult audience although interested older youth are welcome. The talk is free with regular paid Zoo admission.

Dr. Coverdill’s research focuses on the migration physiology and behavior of Arctic breeding songbirds including the white-crowned sparrow and snow bunting.

He is currently a faculty member at Boston College and Simmons College where he teaches general biology, ecology and evolution, and introduction to physiology.
