The presentation will focus on the importance of Franklin Park Zoo to its constituents in our city and the history of Franklin Park Zoo as told from the following perspectives: political engagement and personal attachment to the Zoo, the creation and history of the Zoo, the Zoo in our community, community engagement and the Zoo in the news.
The panel will be moderated by 90.9 FM WBUR’s Delores Handy. Special guests include Michael Dukakis, former Massachusetts Governor, Dr. Rory Browne, Zoo New England Board member and internationally known authority on the history of zoos, and journalist and Baystate Banner Executive Editor, Howard Manly.
Following the formal discussion, guests are invited to join Dr. Rory Browne as he leads a tour through Franklin Park Zoo noting historical highlights.
