A free lecture at the Atrium School by Catherine Steiner-Adair, clinical psychologist, consultant, and educator for parents, educators, and counselors that addresses the necessity of educating girls to be culturally savvy and literate.

Although educators are making huge strides in closing the academic gap between girls and boys, girls are bombarded by cultural messages and images that leave academically talented girls vulnerable to making psychologically risky, unhealthy choices outside the classroom.

This workshop will address the necessity of educating girls beginning in elementary school through high school to be culturally savvy and literate.

Participants will learn about new research and curricula developed toward this and best practices for parents, teachers, and counselors.
