The Vilna Shul welcomes Dr. Monique Saigal-Escudero to discuss her journey and work documenting women of the French resistance during World War II.

Join Pomona College alumni, parents, and friends for a reception and visiting faculty lecture in Boston.

A Professor Emerita of Romance Languages and Literatures at Pomona College for 45 years, Monique Saigal-Escudero's latest book, French Heroines 1940-1945: Courage, Strength and Ingenuity, shares the stories of 18 women in the French Resistance who stood out because of their extraordinary courage.

Catholic, Jewish or Protestant- they transcended religious divides in the name of a common ideal.

Her talk will feature a slideshow of her life as a hidden child in the French Resistance as well as video footage of some of the women she interviewed for her book.
