You're invited to Havurah on the Hill's monthly Kabbalat Shabbat service, dinner and shmoozing on August 16th as we welcome Marietta Cambareri to the Vilna Shul.

Marietta, a friend of the Vilna, is Curator of Decorative Arts and Sculpture and the Jetskalina H.

Phillips Curator of Judaica at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

We will hear all about Marietta's groundbreaking work the MFA, in internationally-recognized museum and a centerpiece of culture in Boston.

About Dr. Cambareri:

Marietta holds a Ph.D.

from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.

She has worked at the MFA, Boston since 2001 and is currently Curator of Decorative Arts and Sculpture, Art of Europe, and , since 2010 has also served as Jetskalina H.

Phillips Curator of Judaica.

Her work at the MFA concentrates primarily on the European sculpture collection, medieval and Reanissance decorative arts, and Judaica museum-wide.

She worked for 4 years in the Sculpture Department at the Getty Museum, Los Angeles.

She has taught, lectured and published widely on Renaissance topics and MFA, Boston sculptures and collections, as well as on Judaica at the MFA.

At the MFA, she curated the 2007 exhibition Donatello to Giambologna: Italian Renaissance Sculpture at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

She has been lead or collaborating curator for several recent gallery installations, including galleries dedicated to Italian Renaissance sculpture and decorative arts, medieval art, 18th century decorative arts and sculpture and 20th century art.

She is currently planning an exhibition on della Robbia sculptures in American collections, which will take place in 2016.
