Kakani Katija, postdoctoral scholar, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, will describe her quest to find (and avoid) elusive jellyfish around the world.
Jellyfish play a critical role in many ocean ecosystems as key predators and prey to a wide array of organisms but we have little knowledge of their behavior such as swimming and feeding.
Learn how the development and deployment of advanced imaging tools provide a new perspective on how jellies swim and forage in their natural environment.
The New England Aquarium hosts a series of informative free lectures, films, and discussions for the community this fall.
The Lowell Institute supports the lectures which are all held in the Aquarium’s Simons IMAX Theatre on Central Wharf in Boston beginning at 7 p.m. Programs last about an hour with discussions afterward, and most are available on the Aquarium’s YouTube channel afterward.
