While serving as Special Strategic Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2008, Colonel Mark 'Puck' Mykleby, along with Navy Captain Wayne Porter, were tasked with creating a grand strategy for the United States.
However, in the end, they decided the U.S. didn't need another strategy.
Instead, America needed a narrative — a story for the future that focused more on opportunity and less on threat and risk.
They captured their vision of what America can be in the 21st Century in a document entitled A National Strategic Narrative.
On September 24th, Colonel Mykleby will be on campus to present his plan for the U.S., with a special focus on national security and sustainability.
He welcomes a conversation with the audience about the future of America and its place in the world.
Cosponsored by Northeastern University's Urban Coastal Sustainability Initiative and the Kostas Institute for Homeland Security
