During World War II, the Danish people helped their Jewish countrymen escape to Sweden.
The most dramatic of these events happened during the High Holy Days of 1943, but the miracles of the rescue of seven thousand Jewish Danes span all five years of the German occupation.
They are timeless lessons in the resistance of evil by ordinary people.
To commemorate the seventieth anniversary year, Dr. Ipsen will describe the unusual circumstances of the occupation in an illustrated talk, based on her memoir, A Child’s Tapestry of War—Denmark 1940-45.
