Lesley Ellis School Parent Education Series presents “Raising Resilient Children & Adolescents” with Dr. Robert Brooks – an evening event for parents of elementary and middle school age students.

Come meet Dr. Robert Brooks, one of today’s leading speakers on the themes of resilience, motivation, and family relationships.

In this presentation, Dr. Brooks will discuss factors that help children and adolescents deal more effectively with stress and pressure and become resilient.

Dr. Brooks will share his ideas on the importance of empathy in understanding and responding to children, why some children from birth have a more difficult time developing a positive self-image and resilience than other children, the importance of identifying and reinforcing each child or adolescent’s “islands of competence,” and specific strategies for nurturing self-discipline, responsibility, caring, hope, and resilience in our children.

During the past 30 years, Dr. Brooks has presented nationally and internationally to thousands of parents, educators, mental health professionals, and business people with a message based on encouragement, hope, and resilience.

Dr. Brooks is the author or co-author of 15 books, some of which include: Nurturing Resilience in Our Children: Answers to the Most Important Parenting Questions; The Charismatic Advisor: Raising Resilient Children; The Self-Esteem Teacher; Raising a Self-Disciplined Child; and Seven Steps to Help Your Child Worry Less.

Each year, the Lesley Ellis School Parent Education Series brings engaging speakers and lively topics to parents and educators in the community.
