Dr. Christopher G. Lowe, marine biology professor and director of the California State University at Long Beach Shark Lab, will talk about how several fisheries management strategies and public awareness of urban ocean issues are helping to reverse the decline in marine predator populations.

By banning near-shore gillnetting in 1994, there have been major increases in mesopredators and marine mammals, all of which are important prey items of white sharks.
