This program will teach participants about classroom interventions for children (in preschool through Grade 8) with challenging behaviors.
Rather than respond with punishment- and reward based consequences, it is important for educators to understand students’ challenges and teach them how to cope.
This will allow students to improve their behavior by acquiring the necessary skills to make academic progress.
In addition, clinicians can better advocate for their patients in school settings by helping educators improve classroom environments and learn more empathetic, effective approaches.
Ms. Minahan will use case studies to give participants the skills and information they need to assist in the creation of effective behavior.
The Early Childhood Professional Association (TECPA)'s Professional Development Programs are designed specifically to meet the needs of early childhood and elementary educators, afterschool professionals, program administrators, and family childcare providers.
This TECPA event includes a light dinner at 6:00 pm with program running from 6:45-8:45.
