Well, fear not, because we found the self-proclaimed “Worst Mom in America” and she's coming to speak to us!
Lenore Skenazy let her 9-year old ride they NYC subway by himself, and in doing so invoked a firestorm over what she considers hyper-vigilant child safety.
This New York City columnist went on to found Free-Range Kids - the book, blog and movement which launched the anti-helicopter parenting movement.
Her belief that our kids are SAFER and SMARTER than our culture gives them credit for has landed her on talk shows from Dr. Phil to The View to the Today Show.
She has lectured everywhere from Microsoft Headquarters to the Sydney Opera House's 'Festival of Dangerous Ideas' and written for everyone from the Wall Street Journal to Mad Magazine.
Join us for a funny lecture where Lenore discusses how today’s parents became so afraid about everything from predators to non-organic grapes (even if cut into quarters!), and how we can regain the perspective that allows us to trust our kids, our community and our own good-enough parenting.
Social hour with cash bar starts at 7pm, lecture will begin at 7:30pm.
