2007 marks the 200th Anniversary of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s birth. As part of the birthday celebration, Mount Auburn Cemetery will be hosting a lecture in Story Chapel followed by a wreath laying ceremony at Longfellow’s grave at Mount Auburn Cemetery. A celebration will culminate with the cutting of a birthday cake. This event will take place Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10 a.m.

Other celebrations happening in and around Cambridge, MA include poetry readings in schools, concerts, and museum exhibits. On March 25, 2007 the Boston Landmark Orchestra will accompany a reading of Longfellow’s poem “Paul Revere's Ride”.
Mount Auburn Cemetery is celebrating its 175th Anniversary with a year of lectures, music, and other events at the Cemetery and around Boston. Please call or visit www.mountauburn.org for further information.
