Robert Brooks, Ph.D., is a psychologist on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and has served as director of the Department of Psychology at McLean Hospital.
In this presentation, he will describe resilience and the factors that help children and adolescents to cope more effectively with stress and pressure.
He will focus on strategies for parents and other adults in nurturing resilience, responsibility, caring and self-discipline in children and adolescents.
Dr. Brooks is a leading speaker and author on resilience, motivation, school climate, positive work environments, and family relationships.
He is the author or co-author, many with Dr. Sam Goldstein, of 15 books and the author of numerous articles and book chapters.
His books include:

Nurturing Resilience in Our Children: Answers to the Most Important Parenting Questions (2002)

During the past 35 years, Dr. Brooks has presented nationally and internationally to thousands of parents, educators, mental health professionals, and business people.
His talks are filled with practical, realistic suggestions, and he is renowned for the warmth and humor he uses to bring his insights and anecdotes to life.
